BWF Fire Door Installation Awareness Course
Overview
We are proud to offer fire door installation awareness training, which has been approved by the BWF. The fire door training course will give a clear understanding of legislation, regulations and considerations when installing a fire door and its components.
This course has been designed to help support experienced tradespeople to upskill their knowledge and skills in relation to the installation and maintenance of timber fire doors. Course will also enhance the knowledge of those overseeing works and anyone who is responsible for fire safety in a building such as Facilities/Estate Managers, Fire Safety Advisors and H&S professionals.
The course covers legislation, importance of timber fire doors in the passive fire protection system of a building and all aspects of installation including compatible components
The course materials and delivery for this Fire Door Installation Awareness training have been developed by the BWF (British Woodworking Federation) – the organisation’s first ever third-party assured course – and can only be delivered by National Open College Network (NOCN) Approved Centres.
is a registered delivery centre of the National Open College Network (NOCN) an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation and licensed by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF). As an approved NOCN training provider we are approved to deliver the SiteRight assured BWF Fire Door Installation Awareness 2-day course. The course has been developed in collaboration between NOCN Group and the British Woodworking Federation to promote awareness in the construction and manufacturing industries of the factors involved in the appropriate installation of timber fire doors and doors sets.

£400 plus vat per candidate*
This course is eligible for CITB Employer Network funding. If eligible CITB will fund 70% of costs.

BWF Fire Door Installation Awareness Course
Course Content / Objectives:
The theory-based Fire Door Installation Awareness course will ensure participants have a clear understanding of:
- The role of timber fire door assemblies and door sets and why it is important that they are installed correctly.
- How fire door assemblies and door sets work and their place in the wider passive fire protection system.
- The legislation and guidance associated with fire door assemblies and doorsets.
- Considerations before installing fire door assemblies and doorsets.
- Considerations when installing fire door assemblies and doorsets.
- Considerations on completion of the installation of fire door assemblies and door sets.
Certification On completion of the Fire Door Installation Awareness course, participants will achieve recognised certification for the assured course featuring the SiteRight, NOCN and BWF logos.
Progression The course also provides candidates with an opportunity to progress on to the achievement of the relevant National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) unit for the installation of fire doors.
