Overview

Become a “Specialist Timber Fire Door Installer” by enrolling onto the NVQ Unit in Timber Fire Door Installation.

Completion of this NVQ Unit will enable individuals to meet specific competency requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Regulations, which require individuals to be competent.  

NVQ Unit Process :

Candidates will attend the “Specialist Timber Fire Door Installer” one-day classroom which has been designed to provide joiners & carpenters with the essential skills, knowledge and understanding required to successfully prepare their portfolio of evidence.

On completion of the one-day course, candidates will be assigned a dedicated assessor, who will review evidence, provide feedback and support throughout the assessment process.

The final part of the assessment will be an on-site assessment in the workplace.

The aim of this unit is to illustrate the skills, knowledge and understanding required to confirm competence in Installing Fire Resisting Timber Door Assemblies and Doorsets in the Workplace within the relevant sector of industry.

A construction NVQ is a benchmark qualification based on NOS National Occupational Standard and proves your occupational competence and can be endorsed onto a CSCS card.
